On numerous occasions, I’ve heard people say: “I survived 2020”, but is this really how we want to remember the start of this decade? When the pandemic hit, companies had to find new ways to operate, stay relevant…survive. What followed was decades worth of steps forward, hosted environments, online tools, meeting apps, the list goes on. We found ourselves not only innovating how we work internally but how we interact with our customers and changing our offerings to match their unique new needs.

Looking at 2021, moving into 2022, what have we done as a business to help our clients move in the right direction, also, and probably more importantly, what are we doing to keep this momentum going?

2020/21 Marked yet another addition to the Thyme family with the team from Letsap Business Solutions joining the group. Letsap has a range of bespoke applications integrating to the Sage range, addressing specific needs for a wide range of industries. Letsap and Thyme are in no way strangers, as the companies have partnered on multiple projects, so it just made sense.

Our team is constantly growing, and even though we have physical offices in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and New Zealand, we had a lot of our staff operating remotely for the last 2 years. This has given us better insight into the complexities and challenges clients are facing, and we could apply our findings to better assist our clients.
Using remote tools, such as TeamViewer, Microsoft Teams and even VPN’s with Remote Desktop we’ve been able to scope, install, setup and train systems as far as China.

During the last couple of months, we’ve been hard at work transforming our mindset to an easier way to connect to financial systems. Sage 50 and 200 has always been our main focus, and therefore we’ve developed a couple of interfaces to take some of the functionality online, either through a Sales App that can be downloaded to a mobile device or through a web interface connecting directly to your financial database. Thyme has also invested a lot of time into Sage Intacct, which forms part of Sage’s ideal of Cloud first. Intacct has been top of the list, receiving the Highest Score for the 5th year running in Core Financials for Lower Midsize Enterprises Use Case in Gartner’s 2021 Critical Capabilities for Cloud Core Financial Management Suites for Midsize, Large, and Global Enterprises.

Our Payroll division also made great leaps into the online space, signing up as a Business Partner with PaySpace, an out-of-the-box online payroll and HR solution. Thyme being a proud Sage house, are looking specifically at these kinds of solutions to assist and grow our clients’ capabilities to be more flexible and accurate in their daily tasks.

We are excited for the new generation of business and the transformation of software and business innovation we are able to offer our clients.

We wish everyone an exciting year ahead and we look forward to working with you.
